I don't think I live with enough urgency in life.
Now I don't mean this in a rushing about way like I have one hour to finish a 10 page paper, and I've only written half. I mean it in more of a sense of purposeful intention in every facet of living. I want to live "making the most of every oppurtunity" as if this hour could be my last.
I'm not saying this because I have this list of awesome, extreme things that I want to do before I die. I mean i do have a list, but I could care less about it here. I really just want to get to the heart of what the apostles knew.
They lived like Jesus might be coming back to get them any minute. They lived with clear purpose to further God's kingdom as far and fast as possible, because who knew when he might be back agian? They took matters into their own hands. They loved God deeply. They loved eachother deeply. They loved others deeply.
They were able to do this so well because a sense of urgency showed them what was truly important. It wasn't a career, or nominal pleasures. It was true life.
This true life is what I need. Purpose. Intent. Action.
I want to be a man of action. I want to be always acting to accomplish the task God has put before me. And if I act wrongly, well then I will alter the course of my actions so they align with the correct course. It is better to move in one direction than not at all.
